Seafood Innovations International Group Pty Ltd. Commercial Harvest Systems are used in Australia, Canada, Chile, Scotland, Norway, Faroe Islands, USA and New Zealand.
Seafood Innovations International Group Pty Ltd. has consistently re-invested its revenue in R&D since 2001 and continues to develop and advance Fish Harvest Systems.
In 2003 SI introduced the flow-through fish stunner and "autofeed" system, this is a major step forward in efficiency and quality.
In 2006, SI developed and introduced the flow-through "in line" bleeder to further enhance client efficiency.
Systems are used both on vessels and on shore.
Harvest rates of 3000 to 5000 fish per hour are achieved on vessels with only 4 channels. This efficiency is demonstrated on the Marine Harvest vessel, Tauranga, which harvests an average rate, typically, in excess of 10,000 fish per hour.
Characteristics of the SI Autofeed Percussive Stunning and Bleeding System
Quality:
- Pre-Rigor processing window expanded up to 24 hours, and general quality improvement in harvested fish.
- No risk of hidden defects such as bloodspot or vertebral damage.
- Low stress harvesting results in a high quality product.
Safety:
- Safety for operators, bleeding is automatic, no knives are required to be used by staff.
- Does not require direct electricity as the stunning medium. Does not require CO2 gas.
- Company hygiene standards can be easily achieved as the system is designed to be easily cleaned.
Operation:
The behaviour based system deals with large volumes of live and active fish in a natural state (not exhausted or artificially sedated) utilising a percussive process.
The system allows welfare in practice to be observed with clear covers and easy access to all components.
The system is easy to ooperate and adjust. Efficient operation outcomes are best achieved by ensuring operation staff are suitably trained in the use and routine maintencance of the equipment
Seafood Innovations International Group Pty Ltd. provides a "Routine Maintenance" regime which ensures that the equipment functions effectively at all times. This includes replacement of consumable parts.
