Seafood Innovations vs Richard Bass High Court of Australia
To day, February 10, 2012, the High Court of Australia refused Richard Bass the right to appeal an earlier decision of the full bench of the Australian Federal Court of Appeals where it was ruled that Richard Bass did in fact, infringe Seafood Innovations' patents. Costs were also been awarded to Seafood Innovations.
Seafood Innovations appreciates that its legal team were able to present its case in a manner which gave the courts an opportunity to fully consider all of the facts and justly make their decisions. The courts in Australia have upheld the Patent laws of the country following exhaustive challenges.
This favourable decision strongly supports Seafood Innovations' existing patents as registered throughout the world and recognises that research and development of new ideas and innovation can be effectively protected by patents.
