About Us

Seafood Innovations Pty Ltd develops and tests equipment and systems based on research and practical experience in seafood technology. We specialize in world-leading, efficient, humane harvest systems and associated equipment for finfish as a major focus of our business. Our approach is to give the best personal and practical support to our clients based on our experience and technical knowledge of fish harvesting technology.

Our head office is in Brisbane, Australia with a research base and demonstration facilities in Dover, Tasmania. This is where trials and development work are conducted in cooperation with the Huon Aquaculture Company, one of Australia’s top salmon farmers and processors. Training courses are also held at the Dover base, enabling students from all over the world to learn how to “harvest profits” by boosting harvest efficiency, and thus ensuring a quick Return on Investment.

Seafood Innovations assemble, check and test run all equipment.  We apply the results of on-going field testing research, and offer continuing upgrade services.

We have authorised agents or consultants in all major salmon producing areas – Norway, Scotland, Canada and Chile – and can be contacted 24 hours per day by phone, fax or email to discuss technical requirements or provide backup for our equipment.

Pryde Fabrication is one of Australia’s most innovative manufacturers of stainless steel products using the most advanced, computerized laser cutting platforms and play a key role in the development of patented technology.

Our Staff and Key Personnel

Bruce Goodrick: Managing director with 25 years experience in research and development and seafood technology, 10 years experience with salmon harvest technology and specialist in pneumatic stunning and the effects of harvest methods on product quality.

Klaus Hoesth (Stranda Prolog, Norway): supplier of pumping systems, process tanks, processing machines, conveyors (both for onboard processing and land based factories) and helical chillers as well as the SI automated harvest system and equipment.

Ted Storie (Dynamic Plastics and Seafood Innovations Canada):  Expert in design and fabrication of fish stunning delivery systems and licensed to use Seafood Innovations patents pending technology.

Ian Armstrong (Scotland): consultant to Seafood Innovations with particular expertise in welfare and quality issues.

Loren Jensen (United States): SI representative in the hatchery sector.

Alastair Smart: Consultant aquaculturist, key advisor to Seafood Innovations and previously the key to the introduction of pneumatic stunning on a commercial scale with Marine Harvest, Scotland.

Noel Carruthers: Business manager and company secretary, responsible for commercial contracts, financial control and administration.

Philippa Goodrick: International sales and marketing coordinator, product information, public relations and promotion.

Lorraine Goodrick: Administration and personnel, Expert in customer service, happy to answer any enquiry.

Darren Leighton: Project engineer.

Paul Foster: Production manager, spare parts, information on orders and shipping.

Liam Goodrick: IT and technical services expert.
